GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Overall Scope of the Position:

 

The General Accountant is responsible for ensuring Sales Orders are recorded accurately and in agreement to the  clients purchase order. Update Encompix to reflect both selling price and budgeted costs by contribution code, which becomes an integral component of recognizing bothe revenue and costs in the financial reporting process. Invoicing clients on a timely manner based upon notification of achieved milestones by the Project Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities and Authority:

 

Job Cost

  1. Processes all transactions in the Encompix ERP system related to Job Contracts awarded to Dacro:

Initial Job set up:

  •   Create Job in Encompix
  •   Enter contract value; enters budgets for materials, services, and labour costs;     creates billing milestones
  •   Ensures all entries in Encompix match the customer purchase order in all   respects
  •   Creates internal sales order – balances to values in Encompix
  •   Distributes sales order to all appropriate staff
  •   Creates job cost file for Accounting Department

Ongoing Job administration:

  • Processes change orders as created by Project Managers
  • Updates contract values and cost budgets in Encompix
  • Ensures the revisions in the Dacro system agree with the customers revised PO in all respects
  • Amends and distributes sales order
  • Creates invoices when Project Manager advises billing milestone achieved

Accounts Receivable

  1. Creates new customer accounts in Encompix
  2. Contacts customers to inquire about the status of unpaid invoices
  3. Investigates customer billing inquiries

Accounts Payable

  1. Voucher invoices and obtain approvals for Tool Crib and other AP transactions
  2. Follow up on uninvoiced packing slips.

General Accounting:

  1. Maintains & reconciles the Petty Cash fund.
  2. Prepares regular and ad hoc reports requested by management and staff throughout the organization.
  3. Maintain financial asset records.
  4. Creates and/or amends business practices and work instructions that specifically relate to the company’s accounting functions.
  5. General Ledger account reconciliations and prepare journal entries.

Human Resources:

  1. Provides back up support to the following positions:
  • Payroll Administrator
  • Accounts Payable Administrator
  • Reception
  1. Any additional duties as assigned

 

Skills Required or Developed:

 

  • Sound knowledge of the fundamentals and principals of accounting.
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience. A recognized accounting designation would be an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of computerized accounting systems that process transactions in a Job Costing environment.
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills and be able to interact well with employees in all departments of the Company.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Must appreciate the confidential nature of the information being processed and strictly adhere to the company’s confidentiality policy.
  • Microsoft office experience required

Overview

Established in 1974, Dacro Industries Inc. is a leading custom fabricator of pressure vessels for the resource industries. We have unique capabilities for mechanical design and fabrication of pressure vessels with large diameter, heavy wall, complex geometry, and unique materials.

Welders at Dacro are trained to meet the unique requirements of the vessels we build. We have specialized training for welders which includes both theory and hands on components. The goal is to develop each welder to meet their potential. We are currently working on projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Hydrogen, Bio-Diesel, and Carbon Capture. We are looking for welders in both our Edmonton and Tofield locations.

Compensation Details

  • Welder compensation is highest of industry segment
  • 5% Statutory Holiday pay
  • 4% Vacation pay
  • Hourly RRSP Contributions (after 60 days employment)
  • Health/Dental/STD/LTD Benefits Package (after 60 days employment)

Reporting Relationships

All positions will report directly to the applicable Production Foreman.

Overall Scope of the Positions

The B Welder is responsible for completing the integral welds of a pressure vessel within tolerances and as per weld procedures specified. The B Welder uses multiple welding processes to complete the weld joints.

The Journeyman is responsible for completing non-pressure welds as well as assisting in other areas consistent with his experience and training. The Journeyman may have the opportunity to gain a welding certification based on aptitude.

The Apprentice is responsible for assisting in and completing all types of activities under the direction and supervision of a Journeyman. The Apprentice may have the opportunity to gain a welding certification based on aptitude.

Skills Required or Developed

The following qualifications are desirable to ensure success in this position.

 Alberta B-Pressure certificate required (B-Pressure Welder)

  • Valid Journeyman Trade Certificate recognized in the province of Alberta (Journeyman Welder)
  • Enrollment in an accredited apprenticeship training program (Apprentice Welder)
  • SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW welding
  • Operating overhead crane
  • Operating forklift, elevated work platform
  • Reading fabrication drawings
  • Rigging
  • Fitting
